Edda Accommodation has placed an order for the offshore industry's first purpose built flotel.

Edda Accommodation, which is part of the Østensjø Group, is extending the Group's services by presenting a purpose built Offshore Accommodation Vessel for a total of 600 personnel.
The vessel - Edda TBN - will be the first purpose built Mono Hull to provide accommodation services to the offshore industry. The vessel will be delivered end 2009.

Edda TBN - 130 m long x 27 m breadth - will be equipped with a telescopic gangway installed on the 1400 m3 deck with one heave compensated knuckle boom crane and to marine deck cranes. The large free deck area to be used in connection with offshore construction work or as storage area.

The Offshore Accommodation Vessel - Edda TBN - is designed to cater for the hightest standard of reliability to the customer. Emphasis will be on low fuel consumption, low emissions, precise dynamic positioning system (DP 3) equipped with well proven reference system. The 5 x Voith Schneider propellers will provide a very accurate and stable positioning system. Very low fuel consumption compared to other propulsion system. Helicopter deck with refueling plant.
