Wärtsilä will supply a 110 MW power plant to Tikhvin, Russia. It will have six Wärtsilä 50SG engines running on natural gas. It will be the largest power plant running on Wärtsilä engines in Russia. It is also the first time that combustion engine technology has been selected to power a plant of this size anywhere in the country.
Wärtsilä will supply its Direct Electric Heating system for Chevron Overseas Congo's Lianzi offshore development project, located off Congo and Angolan coasts. The system will be used to heat the 43 km long subsea production pipeline between the Lianzi field and the Benguela Belize Lobito Tomboco platform.
Wärtsilä has received the Final Approval status from the International Maritime Organization’s Marine Environment Protection Committee for its Wärtsilä AQUARIUS® EC Ballast Water Management System. It provides a safe, flexible and economical process for the treatment of ballast water.
Wärtsilä has signed a 10-year Operations & Maintenance agreement for Ndola Energy power plant in Zambia. The contract covers full operations, maintenance and servicing of the plant, which is scheduled to start commercial operations in July. It is the first HFO power plant in Zambia exclusively operated by Wärtsilä.
